I research and teach mainly in constitutional law, EU-law, international law and migration law, especially on issues related to human rights, the rule of law, border control and new technology.
In my PhD thesis I analyse the implementation and use of autonomous systems within the EU's external border control in relation to principles of the rule of law.
I am particularly interested in how legal requirements related to human control can be used as a safeguard when implementing autonomous systems, and the thesis will develop a legal theory on "meaningful human control".
