Tlek is a PhD student in the Ultrafast Nanophotonics research group led by Nicolò Maccaferri.
Tlek completed his undergraduate studies in physics at the University of Science and Technology of China, earning a Bachelor's degree in 2019. Later in 2021, he attained a Master of Science degree in Physics from the University of Luxembourg. His master's thesis, titled 'Ultrafast Charge and Spin Dynamics in Magnetoplasmonic Materials,' was supervised by Prof. Dr. Daniele Brida and Dr. Nicolò Maccaferri. Following that, he took on a short-term position as a research assistant within the same group till early 2022.
Subsequently, he started on his Ph.D. journey within the 'Ultrafast Nanophotonics group' under the supervision of Dr. Nicolò Maccaferri. The PhD project focuses on unveiling nonthermal magnetization dynamics in nanomaterials supporting both plasmons, collective and coherent oscillation of charges in metals, and magnetic properties. He is developing a state-of-the art pump-probe spectroscopy setup which enables the generation of few-optical cycles visible and near-infrared light pulses to excite and observe plasmonic effects on magnetic processes at the nanoscale.
